Not only was I fortunate enough to see Jake Shimabukuro play at the Ark in Ann Arbor back in 2009, but I was also honored to have him sign my Cordoba ukulele and pose for a picture with me, too.  I was one of several who had brought ukes to sign (yes, other "Middle-aged guys with ukuleles") and he was just as kind and humble as can be.  If you get a chance to see Jake, don't hesitiate.  It is unlike any other concert you will ever attend and the mood is so right and so positive you actually feel honored to be there.  I have since had the opportunity to interview Jake for my blog and look forward to seeing him perform again.
